Don't Panic Rob

Don't Panic Rob is a homage to the single screen platformers of the early home computer days. The aim of the game is to collect all 10 of the B BOTS. This then reveals the hidden green switch which you touch to complete the level.

Catch the BBOTS, press the button, avoid the grey robots!

Controls

⬅️ Left   ➡️ Right  

❎  Jump  /  ❎  Boost Jump when on a jump pad

🅾️  or ⬇️  Drop when on a drop pad

I want to thank the Pico 8 community on Reddit, Discord and Lexaloffle have helped me learn a lot answered some of my questions. A big thank you to the YouTubers like LazyDevs, Nerdy Teachers & Gruber whose videos have been really helpful. I got the Drone and flying BBOTS code from this helpful medium article.

Also MBOFFIN whose page on animation finally enabled me to animate 16x16 sprites and last but not least, SpaceCat,  whose course I did and was very helpful at the start of my coding journey.

Story

Rob is the night time janitor at Acme Robotics Inc. and loves the quiet life, listening to his tunes and sweeping up. But tonight Rob is panicking!

Somehow the Baby roBOTS have escaped and are causing chaos around the factory. Now they have triggered the  alarms and the security has been set to threat level red! Everyone is perceived as a enemy, even Rob!

How could this have happened? Was it something to do with him pressing the button that said "DO NOT PRESS THIS BUTTON!"? Surely not!

Now Rob has to catch all the B Bots and press the big green button to turn off the security before his boss sees the chaos and he gets fired! What could go wrong!!!!!

Collect the B BOTS over 7 levels whilst avoiding the security robots out to stop you. 1980's 8 bit home computing fun awaits!
